Children will learn resilience and how to care for their hauora/well-being through specific workshops focused on one dimension of their hauora.
We take our tamariki to swimming or gymnastics; but how about discovering their unique skills they will use every day. Finding their toolbox of skills to be resilient and independent through workshops, these two hours of fun include sustainable art, gardening, cooking food they grow, mindfulness and movement... Whichever one they choose!
Hauora Heroes is for tamariki aged 7-12 years, wanting to learn their superpowers, make new friendships with themselves and others, get involved in fun activities and learn how to care for their mind and body.
“One of the primary ironies of modern education is that we ask students to ‘pay attention’ dozens of times a day, yet we never teach them how" - Saltzman, 2011
We're located at the Phillipstown Community Hub on 39 Nursery Road.
Each workshop will have a specific focus on a different aspect of the four dimensions of our hauora, and afternoon kai is provided.
"I like mindfulness because it makes me feel calm"
“Ahhhh that makes my heart feel good”
